Management of Eye Diseases & other Ocular Conditions

Dry Eye

Dry eye occurs due to insufficient production of aqueous tears, or when the tears produced evaporate too quickly. Dry eyes are more commonly experienced by:

  • Contact lens wearers
  • Those working in air-conditioned environments
  • Those who have heavy computer usage

Symptom of dry eye includes:

  • Pain and redness of the eye
  • Stinging or burning sensation of the eye
  • A sandy or gritty feeling
  • Temporary blurred vision
  • Discomfort during contact lens wear
  • Excessive tearing

Treatment includes change of working habits, use of artificial tears (eye drops) and the use of punctum plugs.
