Management of Eye Diseases & other Ocular Conditions

Pterygium

Pterygium is a fibrovascular growth on the conjunctivitis (white part of the eye) which extends towards the cornea. They develop from excessive ultraviolet (UV) light exposure.

Symptoms:

  • Ocular surface irritation
  • Dry eye
  • Foreign-body sensation
  • Blurring of vision from irregular astigmatism (advanced stage)

If required, pterygiums can be removed surgically.
