Laser Refractive Surgeries available at OPTIMAX

• Laser-in-Situ Keratomileusis (Lasik) uses a“microkeratome” device to make a thin corneal flap which is then held aside during the lasering process. Appropriate for short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism.

• All-Laser-Lasik is a blade-free procedure using the vastly improved “Fourth Generation Intralase” that combines Femtosecond Laser and Excimer Laser to further minimise risks and maximise results, to create blade-free all-laser Lasik flaps.

• Epi-Lasik employs a unique epikeratome to mechanically separate the epithelium from the stroma, creating a flap of epithelial cells only. In this
procedure, blades or knives are required and unlike Lasek, no alcohol is required.

• Laser-Assisted Subepithelial Keractectomy (Lasek) is a “bladeless procedure” which uses a chemical solution to loosen the surface corneal tissue prior to lasering, appropriate for short-sighted, long-sighted and astigmatism. Both Epi-Lasik and Lasek are the most tissue saving method suitable for those with high power and thin cornea. • Custom Laser is a tailor-made procedure using a unique “wavefront” technology and the latest Nidek EC5000 Excimer Laser machine to measure the eye along with its irregularities or unevenness and it does more than just correct refractive errors. It also sets out to improve overall visual quality in terms of contrast sensitivity and fine details as well as to reduce night vision problems such as glare and haloes.

• Presbyopia Pseudo-Accommodative Cornea (PAC) is a new software for the Nidek EC5000 Excimer Laser to solve your reading problem. The laser pattern creates a multifocal-shaped cornea. The treatment can be carried out by:
