Macular Hole

A macular hole is a small break in the macula (central retina) which is responsible for the sharp central vision we need especially for reading and seeing fine detail. A macular hole causes distorted and blurred central vision.

Macular hole is treated by surgical procedure, known as vitrectomy, which is necessary to help improve vision.
